In a small Southern community, Cat’s best friend, Patrick, is left for dead, victim of a horrible hate crime.  Cat decides she has to know who did it.

Let’s start by saying I love the cover.  Isn’t it so pretty?

I’ve only ever read a couple of Lauren Myracle’s books.  I enjoyed her light, breezy fun reads.  So, when I came across this one I thought I’d give it a chance.  It didn’t disappoint. I live in a small Southern town, so I know what it’s like being around close-minded people.

Cat was a strong, yet curious and at times a bit stupid character.  The book follows her from gay bars to drug houses as she interviews various people who knew Patrick.  It was raw and emotional.  It also shows the lengths some will go to to protect their family and friends.  Amongst the very sad storyline, I see hope for the characters.  That makes me happy.
